Fair winds gave us a checkout and we bought some ice and last minute breakfast etc, and we got off the dock around 1030. We didn't get any checkout sail and quite frankly we hadn't sailed in a year so we did some sailing with just the Jib and practiced a few tacks. The newbies were excellent!
Furl in the Jib and then raise the main. We have about 20 knots today, awesome sailing! Took her on a beam reach and hit 9 knots.. Is that all? Come on La Bella Vita... We need MORE!
We pulled into Sopers Hole and grabbed a mooring ball, first try! I made about 4 trips back and forth to Customs, those forms are impossible! I did stay there long enough to have capt Jim of blue moon bum twenty bux off of me haha'
Customs wrapped up and we finally raised the courtesy flag, and our MD pirates flag! It was a nice simple ceremony.. Hahha. I will say I'm flying them on the starboard, but that's not etiquette, but well, I'm on vacation... Donotcare!
Everyone is cleaning up now to head over to the Jolly Roger for the TTOL welcome party...(Traveltalkonline.com) (an Internet forum that helped me plan this and previous trips!!) an there's about 15 or more boats coming, they even have a live band. There's also a potential for an excellent time!
The SPOT tracker should have been updating, I'll check it out later! Off to the Jolly Roger!
