Monday is out of the way, and the days are counting down! Thought I'd introduce the Pirates!
First up: The Captain and his Girl. Patrick and Meagan Smith. Meagan and I have been married for three years and we live for the next adventure! A good many people ask us each time we're into something new: "Another vacation?" Yup, guess so! This will be my fourth time sailing in the BVI and Meg's second time. We figure before we have de babies we will go ahead and play as much as we can!

Matt and Jackie Dorn are returning with us to the BVI after last year's adventures! Matt was recently transferred to nowheresville Wisconson for work, and this will be an awesome time for them both to get to spend time together. Matt and I have created the idea of this trip and spent countless work hours planning and preparing!

Joe and Erin work with Matt at Bechtel. Erin got transferred to corn-land St Louis and so they too are looking forward to spending some time together. Joe will be designated dinghy captain, and Erin will be my swab.... They are the greenies on this trip, their first time to the Virgin islands. You could say they are virgin Islands virgins...

Last but surely not least are our good friends from college, Ben and Lindsey. Ben flies for a regional airline, and Lindz works for a big aviation company out in Colorado. We will accept them as abassadors to the west for the Maryland Pirates! Lindz has a love affair with the islands, the sun the sand and all things USVI. We are gonna show her how the BVI rocks the socks off of the USVI!
A Preview of Day one!
Saturday will consist of an incredibly too early flight from DC, with a layover in Miami and the Pirates start arriving on St Thomas! We will make our way by taxi to the eastern end of the island to the Red Hook area. The American Yacht Harbor is a world class marina with about 130 slips, and we will meet our La Bella Vita (spelled wrong mind you)! Once we find her, we will spend the rest of the evening completing the following chores: get aboard, unpack, safety drills, provision, safety drill, finish packing provisions, party! After traveling all day we are sure to be exhausted and we have a super long day in the morning. That first day has been running through all of our heads for months and months and its only 4 days away!

Side Note: I ran the SPOT tracker for a little while today and it looks like I succeeded in embedding the tracker in this blog. So if it works for you, use this page as a launching point for keeping track of us!
