In less than 48 hours I'll be in the Virgin Islands.......
Im taking some time off work to get my sailing certification. Friday morning I'm leaving DCA with a stop in Miami to fly to St Thomas. Im spending the afternoon on company business and then ill meet up with my yacht, "Lucy's Two" She is a GibSea 433 (43.4' long monohull sailboat) that sleeps up to 8 people. The trip will be my buddy Brian and I, plus three other students and an instructor.
The certification is the American Sailing Association 101, 103, and 104. This allows me to charter a sailboat at any location in the world that recognises the ASA. We will be spending a majority of the time in the amazing cruising grounds of the British Virgin Islands. Our first marina is the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook St Thomas, and the rest of the locations are still TBD.
Ill be updating through email, with mobile picture uploads when possible! Occasionally Ill try and upload my location through a google maps link as well. When I come home, ill make sure to get many pictures up on my smugmug site!
